Adopt An Owl And Meet Some Of Our Meerkats
There are other birds of prey here as well and we do daily flying displays. Everyone’s favourite animal at the moment are our meerkats so your children will be happy to know that we have a lovely family of meerkats here at our Owl Sanctuary. We do many encounter sessions with the Meercats, taking an up-close and personal walk with them at our ‘Meet The Meercats’ session. On these sessions you will spend time inside their enclosed space and discover many facts about these fascinating creatures.
A key feature of the sanctuary is its fully equipped raptor hospital. This provides medical care and treatment to injured wild owls and other birds of prey from around Ipswich. Many of these birds are rehabilitated and, once recovered, are released back into their natural habitats. Conservation efforts extend beyond the sanctuary’s immediate environment. The Wild Owl Nest Box Scheme focuses on identifying suitable locations for nest boxes, constructing them from environmentally friendly materials, and monitoring nesting activities. We aim to support wild owl populations by providing safe nesting habitats, thereby contributing to the preservation of these species in their natural settings.
